Welcome to this web site which contains details of the ferries that operated on the Firth of Forth on the route was called the Queensferry Passage. The ferries operated between North Queensferry and South Queensferry.

Screen captures from the video "Forth Road Bridge" available on the National Library of Scotland website show the ferries. The images which probably relate to 1959 or slightly later are interesting as they show:-
- The queues at North Queensferry pier.
- A view looking west up the River Forth with no sign of any bridges.
- Although the ferries at ran 99.7% efficiency there were times when they had to be suspended, the weather and in this instance Fog (Haar) being the reason.
