- This website was created by Dennis Penny, the son of John Penny who was the Captain of one of the ferries, the Sir William Wallace.

- The site was created in 2010.

- The website displays a lot of photographs which have mainly been discovered by searching the internet and then obtaining permission from the owners
of the images to use them in the site. Credit to the owners is displayed where their permission has been received. Some photoographs have been supplied directly from readers of this site which is always welcome addition.

-The addition of film footage of the ferries is a bonus so where found a link has been added to videos that have been posted on You Tube or by broadcasting companies.

- Copies of certificates and other documents relating to the ferries were held by the late John Penny.
